In these full-year, hands-on Language Arts experiences, students read, write, research, design, and act their way through four themed adventures. Each adventure incorporates a whole-class reading and in-depth analysis of a novel, a hands-on literature project, an analytical essay, additional period-related reading and research reports, and a creative writing challenge culminating in a unit portfolio displaying the student’s accomplishments.

Student essays are teacher evaluated for strengths and weaknesses, providing a supportive relationship in which students are challenged to improve in a few areas at a time.
