Aimee was teaching before she could ride a bike. Her Fisher-Price Little People never did learn to read, but she later earned a B.A. in English and a teaching certificate anyway. Since then she has been teaching middle and high school English while writing her own curriculum because that's just what her brain does and she can't turn it off. Inevitably, she has developed ten full year Language Arts programs for grades 6-12 based on how she wishes she had been taught literature and writing.

In the classroom Aimee believes it's her job to present students with material that is relevant and useful; it's their job to think critically to shape culture, not be shaped by it. Her favorite maxims in the classroom are: writing is thinking (everyone can write), every word must add meaning (cut clutter), and if you make a statment, prove it.

When Aimee isn't teaching or creating content, she is a Spanish-speaking pastor's wife and mom of three, two of whom are grown. The Lines have home-educated their children since 2008.
